As I introduced this blog in early February, my inspiration was the Friday Letter each of our school principals write every week to families. I intended to follow suit and write to the ABI school community weekly about local and national education issues. Two weeks into this, it’s clear writing only on Fridays isn’t enough. Because of this, we’re going to change the name of the ABI blog to Part & Parcel. Integral components of their communities, our schools – Afya, Brehms Lane and Tunbridge - are part and parcel of Baltimore City. I hope what I write here amplifies and celebrates the essence of the work and play in our schools, while providing an up close and personal look at education in Baltimore and beyond. On occasion, as with my last post, there may be a call to action. Always I hope I have the courage to draw attention to what I believe must change.
